Pandora's Box

The legend goes that Pandora was the first woman on Earth. Zeus ordained her creation by Hephaestus out of water and earth. Given to her was many things beauty by Aphrodite, speech by Hermes and clothing by Athena

Prometheus then stole fire from heaven, Zeus taking vengeance by presenting Pandora to Epimetheus, Prometheus' brother. With her, Pandora was given a box with strict instructions not to open it, Impelled by her curiosity (the same which killed the proverbial cat), Pandora opened it, and all evil contained therein escaped and spread over the earth. She snapped the box closed, but the contents had escaped, scared f the wrath of the gods the took council with her husband, opening the box in front of Epimetheus to show it was empty, one last thing flew out, it was the spirit f hope in the form of a dove. finally confiding in Zeus he did not punish her as he knew that she would open the box.
